Yesterday we zoomed past the 4 month marker. These pictures were taken the same day you told me you wanted to marry me and asked how long it took to plan a wedding. I started looking for rings right away with my friend, Ruth.
And to think that part of our story happened so fast. We had no idea what was coming.
4 months into our marriage, you’re in school, pursuing your long-hoped for dream of going to composition school. We’re still unpacking boxes because the time not occupied with work or school is filled with people; college students dining on pancakes, tomato soup and questions about Jesus, out of town visitors, and neighbors that we love.
All the things that we hoped to do later, after all the boxes were unpacked and we settled into married life, got pushed forward. Instead of discovering who we are together while we arrange the furniture, we’re discovering who we are as we labor together. And the sweat and tears shed now have only begun to show signs of a fruitful harvest. It is an honor to share your name and calling.
Love you, babe.
